🔻A Beach for Gaza🔺
Join us on Dec 15 @studiopilot.gbg for the sale of books and prints in support of Gaza. A Beach (B-B-B-Books 2013) is a collaboration between Klara Källström, Thobias Fäldt and Johannes Wahlström, given form by 1:2:3 (Axel von Friesen & Petter Törnqvist). The book turns 10 years this month and has been sold out for a long time. Photographically it depicts the transformation of the Arab city of Jaffa and the gentrification processes following the Tel Aviv expansion where the houses have been shredded into pieces and thrown into the sea; an ocean full of memories subsequently brought back onto the shore by the waves. Walking down the newly constructed beach promenades and recreational areas for yoga and contemplation, writer Johannes Wahlström recalls a childhood memory of a place and a history now eroded into sand.
