MLZ Art Dep and WAF, in collaboration with AiR Trieste, are pleased to present Images in Relation. Post-representational Aesthetic, an exhibition featuring works by the artistic duo Klara Källström and Thobias Fäldt and the artist Giovanna Repetto. Attentive observers of the radical transformations experienced by photography over time, these artists have developed conscious and inventive practices to mobilize images as tools of sense-making and knowledge production.
While the Källström-Fäldt duo uses the strategy of juxtaposition to read the present in the light of the past and undermine the dominant narratives of our time, Repetto questions the narrative capacity of the image straddling the domains of the real and the virtual. Relationality – between and with images – emerges as the key to responding to the crisis of representation that invested photography and to re-actualizing the visual’s potential in the era of the post-photographic.
